Jeanine Hofland proudly presents Trial Blank, Printer’s Proof, Cancelled Plate, the second solo exhibition of Maarten Overdijk in the gallery. Within this exhibition, Overdijk explores a new strand in his practice, departing from a series of the works in Trial Blank, Printer’s Proof, Cancelled Plate echo artefacts such as the drawing board, the architectural model, the topographical map: tools that typically reduce lived spatial experience to its rational dimensions. In this case, horizontal, flat­bed surfaces out of wax and fired clay. However, they appear to be part of a different kind of universe.
